Hop & Chill: Castle Stories & Space Journeys – Hlohovec

Take a ride with our experience bus and discover castle legends, Beethoven’s music, and the taste of local wine.

Discover the charm of Hlohovec – a town where history was written, music was composed, and today offers a unique atmosphere full of nature, culture, and relaxation.

The trip will take you to Hlohovec Castle, recently reopened to the public after a major renovation. Once a fortress, then a manor house, military hospital, and youth detention center – today, the castle features a permanent exhibition, 3D virtual tours, a gallery, and a beautiful courtyard used for events. In the surrounding park, you’ll find more than 100 species of rare trees, romantic spots, Neptune’s Cave, and the largest plane tree grove in Central Europe.

An unforgettable part of the tour is the visit to Slovakia’s oldest theatre building – the Empire Theatre, where Beethoven is said to have performed. Actor Tomáš Kramár will bring its story to life right on stage.

The experience concludes with a wine tasting featuring local winemakers – a true delight for all your senses.

As the sun sets, the day ends with a starry finale: stargazing and a projection show at the modern planetarium.

Please note that most parts of the program are conducted in Slovak.
Interpretation in English is available only for the castle tour and planetarium visit, but must be requested in advance when booking.
The theatre performance and wine tasting are held exclusively in Slovak.

New for Autumn 2025

In addition to the standard ticket with bus transport from Piešťany, you can also purchase a ticket **without transportation**.

In that case, guests arrange their own transport (by car, train, etc.) and join the program at 14:00 directly at Hlohovec Castle.
